$70-85K Job Summary of the Purchasing Manager:
The Purchasing Manager coordinates the purchasing of direct production materials and MRO supplies as required.
Measures, reports and manages the performance of supplier quality and delivery.
Identifies and evaluates new supply sources, reduces materials costs by negotiation, design and/or sourcing.
Collaborates with the Supply Chain Manager to manage company logistics.
Participates as a member of the company Leadership Team.
Job Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager:
Requisitions material and establishes delivery dates to departments according to job order priorities and material availability.
Identifies new sources of supply and evaluates their capabilities.
Evaluates and selects vendors.
Build and maintain positive trust relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Work with vendors to negotiate, renegotiate and administer contracts.
Ensures materials are ordered in a timely and appropriate manner to meet production needs.
Ensures MRO purchases are made in a timely and appropriate manner to meet all business needs.
Make, revise, cancel or change purchase orders.
Review production schedules and related information.
Coordinates and schedules delivery of purchased material.
Oversee the management of supplier/vendor product cost, quality and delivery performance.
Conduct research and evaluation of vendors/contracts.
Keep current on market trends and unusual conditions or circumstances for the material and/or supplies being purchased.
Oversee the processing of payment by invoice approvals.
Review and keep a good record of purchasing files and records.
Education & Experience of the Purchasing Manager:
1.
Direct supervision of one or more buyers, or associates, as part of the purchasing department.
2.
BA/BS degree, preferably in Material Requirement Planning or a minimum equivalent of 3-5 years relevant purchasing or buying experience.
3.
Supply Chain Management qualifications are a plus, specifically in a manufacturing environment.
4.
Must possess a high level of negotiation and networking skills 5.
Must possess a high degree of computer literacy & proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
6.
Flexibility and time management skills are necessary to effectively manage multiple projects.
7.
Must possess creativity and self-motivation and the ability to effectively work in an environment requiring independent judgment and analysis.
8.
Proven supervisory and leadership skills are necessary for this position.
Salary:
$70 - $85 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
